you have to waste a large thumb drive, hope it doesnt get lost and still works when you need it. MSI recommends all users should create system backup by Burnrecovery toolThe recovery media can help you recover your system in most cases. MSI back up needs to be made from your laptop,in advance of any issues.
Soooo NOT the fault of MSI Burn software, except to maybe list the proper format somewhere. the way that MSI Burn Recovery NEEDS it to be. recovery Do not check the box to Back up system files to the recovery drive, and then select Next. If the User Account Control notification pops up, please select Yes. Installed a current up to date copy of win 10. Come to find out that Windows 10 doesn't have the capability to format the USB thumb drive correctly,(not that I could find anyway). Type and search Recovery Drive in the Windows search bar, then click Open. you can make it from any windows pc at anytime. Windows lets you create an insraller USB, needs 4gb. It wants 32gb of space meaning a 64gb thumb drive (I tried a 32gb, actual capacity is 29.8 gb so couldnt proceed). Dragon Center suggesting making a recovery usb thumb drive.
My MSI laptop comes with vanilla windows 10 home. Edit: Question is a little syndical and long but really, what's the advantage of making an MSI back up usb? (why even keep the recovery partition after registering windows)?
